One Hot Krymsun rebounds Longe Line at the NCQHA Futurity

In recent years, declining numbers in the longe line had led the futurity committee to omit the Non Pro Longe Line from the class list. One Hot Krymsun offered to bring the class back and sponsored it with $1000 added.

Last night I had the pleasure of being the official One Hot Krymsun representative at the NCQHA Futurity in Raleigh, NC.  In recent years, declining numbers in the longe line had led the futurity committee to omit the Non Pro Longe Line from the class list.  One Hot Krymsun offered to bring the class back and sponsored it with $1000 added.  With five entries and a 60/40 split, this added a nice chunk to the already jackpotted 70% payback on the entry fees.  In addition One Hot Krymsun offered a bonus $1000 if the winner was one of his offspring.  He's a super generous daddy :-)

This seemed to really help the longe line numbers in general and the Non Pro especially.  The open Longe Line (which ran concurrently with the NC Breeders') had four total entries.  The Non Pro Longe Line had five entries.  Every executive member of NCQHA and the futurity committee was thrilled with the feedback and participation that resulted from the added money.  It was awesome for me especially since I did nothing but bask in Jet's glory and accept thanks and praise for an idea and money that wasn't mine, but promise to pass on every word to the big man back at home.

Even though the Non Pro Longe Line was not won by a Krymsun yearling (Kira Campbell was the winner), the payout was still impressive, with $915 going to first place...works out to about $10/second for a 90 second go!  That means that if any of the three Krymsuns in the class HAD won, the first place payout would have been $1915!

The crowd was into the classes, which were well situated between popular money-added riding classes.  The evening slate of futurity classes did run late, but that was just due to the overwhelming entry numbers in classes earlier in the day, so it's hard to complain about that.  The legendary photographer Harold Campton was on hand to capture the aftermath of these magical moments and we hope to have pictures to share soon.

Since One Hot Krymsun sponsored the Non Pro Longe Line, I was busy with some other duties during portions of that class and did not get to video.  I did video the open goes, and have them linked just below.  Comments are welcome!
